After ten years of making markets on the floor at the CBOE, Founder Jeff Wigley foresaw that the trading landscape would forever be changed by the emergence of electronic markets. Inspired by the idea of combining cutting edge technology with a passion for trading, Jeff set out to create an enduringly great trading firm. In 2003, Sun Trading LLC was formed. A core group of technologists and traders put this vision into motion and set the stage for Sun’s rapid growth across asset classes and markets. From our headquarters in Chicago and our affiliate in London, Sun is recognized as a leader in the automated trading space and a market maker in the United States.

Trading
Sun’s trading teams focus on a variety of quantitative trading strategies (primarily high frequency) across multiple markets and asset classes. Automated trading is a constantly evolving space that demands excellence in exchange for success. At their core, our trading teams are responsible for developing and deploying new trading strategies while ensuring existing strategies evolve to align with changes in market conditions and the industry.
Sun maintains its edge by hiring exceptional talent and encouraging the free sharing of new ideas across disciplines and teams. Trading teams are comprised of Quantitative Traders, Quantitative Researchers, and On-Desk Technologists who work across the rest of the organization to achieve success.

Sun Trading Execution Services (aka “STX”) is an agency broker-dealer featuring a fully automated trading center, affording its trading partners access to the liquidity provided exclusively by Sun Trading’s market making desk. STX provides a cost-effective means to source liquidity, running on our matching platform designed specifically to deliver response times rivaling the street’s fastest trading venues.

The company's trade products are classified into six major groups:
1) Frozen Food Products: frozen chicken, frozen beef, frozen pork, fish, hot dog and sauces ready-to-eat meals.
2) General Foodstuffs: mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, tomato, dried fruits, mustard, mushroom, paste, beers, wines, confectioneries, cream milk powder, condensed whole milk, butter, garlic, onion, mango & guava juice, canned pork, canned poultry, canned fruits.
3) Consumer Goods: textiles, clothes collection (Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer), ceramics, gifts, used auto parts, household furniture, plastic containers, decorative flowers, sunflower seeds, feed for fry and feed additives (for marine farming, cattle & poultry), sulphur, diesel and crude oil, jet fuel, rough diamonds and gold.

6) Educational Equipment and Technology: rather than theory teaching, practicals in laboratory play an important role to train the students perfectly. We supply modern and top technology teaching equipment for universities, engineering schools and basic technical education. We offer open control, multicontrol, scada-net, where thirty students can work simultaneously in more than three hundred units.
